Flying Around the World in 90 Minutes - to Less Crappy Music

Iss_top

Those of you who follow the Brad Blogspeed Facebook page (you DO all follow the Facebook page, right?) may remember this stunning clip that I shared there last week. It's yet another fantastic time lapse video taken from the International Space Station, and when I posted it I added the comment:

"How awesome is this? Well, except maybe the music."

Well, here's some more remarkable footage from low earth orbit and the ISS, this time accompanied by better tunes. At least in my opinion, awesome space footage needs accompaniment that's powerful and inspiring, and this clip does at least a somewhat better job in that category.

But no matter what melody is playing, the footage simply must be seen. Check out what happens at the 2:40 mark when the ISS passes over a lightning storm; stunning stuff.

This Time-Lapse footage is from August - October. The NASA crew of expeditions 28 and 29 aboard the ISS imaged our planet from 18 different locations.

Images were taken at an altitude of about 350 kilometers. That's roughly 217.5 miles.
