Hero
by Miguel Endara
210 hours. 3.2 million hand drawn dots. 1 pen. Infinite patience.
This video went massively viral Monday, and for good reason. In it, Miguel Endara does that thing that many talented artists feel compelled to do; he changes the very way in which his art is made.
By hand dotting the ink onto the paper, Miguel turns himself into a human printer. It's a massively time consuming exercise, but it creates one heck of a fresh look. Dope, even. I mean sorry to come off like such an ill emcee, but this technique is damn unique...yo.
What's that? Did Miguel really invent this way of drawing? Uh, no idea where to even begin researching that...but, it's the first I've seen of it on the internet...so, yeah!
NOTE: Two seconds after publishing this I did the most basic research and discovered pointillism, which I knew about (without knowing the name), but had never seen done with a pen before. I didn't elect to change my write up however for the same reason you don't see me doing 210 hour long drawings...it's called lazy, dude.
More from Miguel:
The making of "Hero," a drawing of my dad composed entirely out of 3.2 million ink dots.
